This animation shows a random attribution of Miller indices to faces of the oriented cube. The faces are indicated by three letters on the buttons and on the cube, respectively. Cartesian axes are presented in white and the positive side is indicated by x, y and z.
Each match of Miller indices and face plane will be scored by a smiling face if the correct choice is selected. Only the 18 first wrong matches of Miller indices and plane are displayed by unhappy faces. The standard time is displayed after the game is done, when the complete set of 6 planes was correctly indexed.
Students may be motivated to learn about Miller indices in order to get better scores quickly for each of the four different polyhedral games as presented in table 1.
